I did a bit more work on Crosswords for Firefox over the weekend. I’ve never really used the add-on myself - Having put all the clues and answers into the database, it’s a bit boring when there is no need to think - so I didn’t realize how irritating some things are.

I wanted to navigate up and down the list of clues using the keyboard, and I couldn’t! I wanted to enter the answer for a clue without having to click on the clue, and I couldn’t! I also wanted to see which blocks the clue referred to without having to scan the tiny numbers, and couldn’t!

Anyway, I made some changes!

1. You can now navigate up and down the clue list using the up and down navigation keys on the keyboard.
2. You can now enter the answer for a clue by hitting enter when that clue is highlighted.
3. The blocks that relate to the clue will be now be highlighted when the clue is highlighted.

I will submit 2.1 to AMO, but I think we all know how damn slow they can be when it comes to reviewing new versions (The latest version of Wizz RSS Lite has been pending review for months), so if you’d like to try 2.1, you can get it here - http://blat.co.za/XPIs/crosswords21.xpi
