Crosswords for Firefox

In my rather sadly typical way of neglecting things, I also managed to neglect my Crosswords add-on for Firefox. But I’m about to rectify that

I’ve just finished work on version 2.0. I had to number it 2.0 because, for some weird reason, AMO decided to label version 0.1 as version 1.0.

Anyway, here is a list of things that have changed in 2.0: -

• The biggest yet least noticeable change: all of the code has been put into nice neat classes, meaning that Crosswords is now far less likely to “pollute” the global namespace.
• I have implemented some of the recommendations made by reviewers.
• I made some changes to the way that the crosswords are rendered. This means that reading crossword data from the database should be slightly faster.
• Bumped maxVersion so that Crosswords will work with Firefox 3.5.

Please report any bugs, recommendations, suggestions, or quibbles into this blog. If version 2.0 is sufficiently bug free, I’ll update AMO with the new version. There are currently only two crosswords in the database. I will add more. Yes, I know that I said the same thing more than a year ago, but I promise to actually do it this time
